Is "prediabetes" a real condition or is it just a made up term to scare people into paying attention to their health?
Yes it's made to scare people because they're on the verge of getting diabetes you fat moron.
It means your blood glucose levels are almost peaking at 8 mmol/L. Tick tock fatties.
it describes a consistent set of symptoms and physiological indications
so, yes, it's real
It's real, it's a state where your blood sugar is on the edge of somewhat normal and oh shit nigga you got diabeetus.

Yeah it's real. It's not really a "disease", it's just a way of telling people that they are becoming insulin resistant and that their blood glucose levels are getting too high, and that if they don't take actiok they will get diabetes
Yes it is real. It is the point where if you don't start changing your diet then you will get real diabetes.

So if a pre-diabetic starts taking care of themselves and their blood glucose levels are back to normal, does that mean they are no longer pre-diabetic or does it mean their pre-diabetes is "under control?

Not always, usually yeah because people who get prediabetes are usually people with poor diet but sometimes the raise in blood sugar is caused by soemthing other than the person's diet. For example their insulin receptors could get fucked or their insulin production could be compromised.
Both
It's evidence of you having diabetes in the future if you don't make changes to your lifestyle
Therefore is also meant to scare you into caring about your health so you don't get fucking diabetes.

I realized I said complete bull. I meant to write your insulin production, not their. Insulin receptors don't produce insulin of course

That's a good way to see it.
Thanks
