Is the American craft beer revolution a triumph of capitalism or a triumph of socialism?
>is a new commercial product the work of profit minded people or delusional faggots with garbage tier degrees?
hmm, I wonder

>porky rebrands a product to appeal to hipsters
>somehow this has anything to do with socialism

unironically consider suicide you commie piece of shit

craft beer is one of the examples of the free market functioning properly. the legalization of home brewing in the US and less regulation of the beer industry turned a country with just a few producers of meh tier lager into a beer snob's paradise fairly quickly

But they're not making the beers just for money, they're making them to be experimental and to produce inspired, high quality beer. If it was just about making money they would just copy all the trashy generic beers. They also often resist mass marketing their niche beers and have them remain a local treasure
Do you have any idea how absolutely shitty most craft beer is?
>Yeah this is a hefeweisen with lavender and jalapeno, I call it Chum
>>35623755
It's just hipster bullshit, desu
>>35623755
it's a fucking fad
most big name craft beer breweries are owned and funded by larger breweries

and capitalism is what enables them to do this. in a socialist system, they would at best only be able to homebrew beer and distribute it to friends for free, as the regulations for commercial brewing would make it impossible for anyone without state support or a shitload of capital to produce any beer

honestly most craft breweries are just rebranded large domestics
see: oculto - budwieser
goose island - budweiser
blue moon - miller/coors
shock top - budweiser
magic hat - budweiser
leinenkugels - miller
third shift - miller
kona - budweiser
and this was just with a quick google search
most craft breweries are just subsidiaries and rebrands of big beer breweries designed to sell to hipsters

most of them started as independent breweries though, and usually the recipe is kept the same even after they're bought out. it's still ultimately better for consumers, as we have more choice and (usually) higher quality beer
