I am not sure if bullies were worse back then, Sometimes it seems to be on the contrary. These days, it's quite a common thing that the victim of bullying gets beaten up and kicked in the face by the whole pack of bullies, but in past, most of them had at least some kind of morals, one person only hitting one victim. Then again, the attitude about bullying was all fucked up, adults used to think that it's just between the kids and that they should not interfere and that getting to be bullied makes you stronger as you learn to survive.
