Why are you afraid of planes? Are you scared of crashing? If so, I'll have you know that air travel is actually safer than traveling by car, so yeah.

>ask around at some nearby port if they are taking passengers if you work

This isn't the fucking 1950 Anon.
>>
>>35616300
where do you live? also transatlantic cruises are not so expensive. Assuming you're somewhere on the eurasian landmass, get yourself to england and sail to new york and then train to seattle
>>
>>35616403

Im on the east coast

I know train travel is also a thing, but that seems even worse than flying because of the sheer distance
>>
>>35616300
If you live in the US just take a train if you're scared of flying.

I used to be scared of flying because I had a really turbulent flight once, but I got over it by closing my eyes and it felt like I was on the subway (whenever it gets really bumpy). I just watch a movie now and zone out.

do you have a valid passport?

use https://www.marinetraffic.com/
and find a ship heading south through the panama canal

you can maybe get through that way and around to seattle

Also make sure to bring gum if your ears tend to pop from altitude changes

My friend just took a bus to Seattle recently from FL. Takes about 3 days to get there but still, there are options out there OP.

Boats

I've taken the bus from east coast to west coast, from Washington DC to seattle. (I actually live in seattle btw). It wasn't even so bad. And trains are much more convenient because you have a reserved seat and plenty of legroom and the ride is super smooth. Just break up the journey into pieces by spending the night in a hotel in cities along the way. Amtrak lets you buy multi-city tickets so you can basically add in your own layovers and stretch out your journey as long as you need.

Why do people not like planes? There's almost nothing to hit way up there than other planes.
>>
>>35616429
Then take Amtrak. They do cross country train rides
>>

I heard Seattle is one of the nicest and friendliest cities in all of America

that's why I wanna go

The laid back and casual attitude of people there make it like taking a time machine back to the 90s
>>
>>35616881
you might want to look up the "seattle freeze" desu

there's literally no reason to not like Seattle. It's a beautiful, well designed city
>>
>tfw live in Seattle

its extremely comfy
>>
>>35616300
Here, I'll try and talk some sense into you.

Point #1: All objects fall at the same rate (proven by Galileo). Imagine dropping a ball from cruising altitude at the same time the engines quit on a jet. They would hit the ground at the same time. In the event anything happens, the pilots have plenty of time to fix it.

Point #2: Those pilots have to have MANY THOUSANDS of hours in the air before they're allowed to fly those jets. That's why they're all Vietnam vets. They know very well exactly what they're doing.

Consequently >>35616367

That said, fly to Seattle and fly right back because it's a shithole and >>35617213 should kill himself. Don't leave the airport.
>>
>>35618060
>All objects fall at the same rate
In a vacuum. Not in atmosphere. Retard
>>
>>35618133
In atmosphere there is air resistance, so the jet would actually fall SLOWER than the ball.
>>
>>35618158
Thanks for reinforcing my argument i guess
>>
>>35618060
>Imagine dropping a ball from cruising altitude at the same time the engines quit on a jet. They would hit the ground at the same time.

this is literally, objectively 100% wrong
>>
>>35618290
But humans aren't ball or jet shaped
So they fall in between
So the ball hits the ground, you land on the ball then the plane lands on you
Simples
