As someone who has worked way too much in the service industry, nobody gives a fuck about some spilled coffee, spilled shit happens a few times a day.

Its nothing at all worth fussing over.

what do you want your cashier to be a paternal figure that cleans you and gives you another cup and makes you feel at ease? they don't have any more authority than you do when you buy coffee from them, it's not their coffee. it's their responsibility to get the customer coffee, and if you walk out having paid and without coffee then they did something wrong. in this situation you are the boundary-setter and you set the boundary to "we are both independent people and the coffee is explicitly my responsibility after you serve it" when you should have set it to "this is your establishment and I am your guest, I paid for a service and regardless of what happens you must fulfill that service before I leave." that said, it's probably a good idea not to go again because they don't understand the psychological relationship a consumer and a business have. pick a more corporate place and I guarantee you will have a good experience. spill the coffee on purpose for all I care, you'll be fulfilled because the cashier's responsibility isn't to save money but to serve coffee and so long as you pay for the service they will fulfill it to their best ability. authority in general works this way, you have to define the boundary of the relationship for them, take a controlling role and don't let other people decide your actions. if you ever feel uncomfortable in your own skin you are subject to someone else's boundary and are not in control. to regain control is to act with authority and power. every move, even if a mistake, will end in your benefit. a second cup, someone capitulating to your authority as consumer and as a powerful person, is the very start you need to becoming beyond weird and beyond normal(the next echelon in human strata of existence, the one in control of those who are normal, and the one to be feared by those who aren't)
