I just wish that people would respect the integrity of the United Kingdom. It's the oldest continuously run country in the world and it seems like everyone is hell bent on Balkanising it.

You realise we have a population roughly equal to a quarter of the USA, and are one of the most populated countries in Europe and the 5th largest economy in the world?

We've declined but we're still a major power.

The UK will not break. Scottish Independence won't happen. It's main drive is the eu and the eu will either reform into a singular state in 25 years or dissolve.

To be honest I think that's wishful thinking. The UK is going to be eclipsed by USA, China, EU, and possibly India within the next 20 or so years. And British manufacturing has been decimated since the second half of the 20th century.

Also, I really don't think that the EU is going to collapse any time soon. Germany and France are the keys to Europe. As long as they are both a part of the EU, it will continue to exist. If one leaves it will collapse. Our only real hope of the EU collapsing and something better filling the gap is if France leaves the EU.

The government is going to have to do a seriously good job of Brexit to make us a world player again (I'm not implying leaving was bad, because we would be in the same shitty situation if we stayed int he EU.) And they're going to need to invest much more in manufacturing, since we rely too much on services for our revenue.
