I came here for hentai in like 05 after a friend on final fantasy 11 recommended it. I've basically visited once a day ever since then. Sometimes I see really old meme content on my HDD and wonder if literally anyone in the world other than me remembers the context or would even find it funny if they did.

A few times in the past I've made friends with groups of users but they always end up growing up and moving on. I still remember all the original trips and regular shitposters from early /tg/ /jp/ etc. and wonder if they found something irl or went to other sites or went through on their suicide threats but really it doesn't make a difference to me.

Some of my anime watching friends showed me this site when I was something like 16 yo, I'm 28 now and I think I'm the only loser still checking it daily. It has changed a lot but so have I. I really think this is a good place in the end, being completely anonymous to others makes for more interesting content and different kind of arguing than on other places on the internet. It also promotes original content and because there's no karma system like Reddit and other forums (post count, user name recognition whatever) you get people's honest opinions (sometimes at least, most of the time it's probably trolling in one way or another)

Been here 8 years with the exception of THE GLORIOUS ERA when moot deleted /pol/ and /new/ and many of us migrated to 4. c. h. o. n. (lol we still can't type that word?). Site's is long gone now, but boy did we have a good run.

I come back here mainly because the "r" in the address field is still a deeply rooted reflex when distracted.
