This one doesn't incense me very much but the history of its usage really kind of makes you think.

Like it started out as an unironic phrase used by midwestern grandmothers on facebook, people who wrote chain emails, and a really extreme contingent of online "birthers" who were really just looking for a way to express "I hate this dude because he's black" without actually saying it, so you got "Obongo" among many others. Obongo is, from a purely aural standpoint, clearly the funniest.

It's clearly getting reappropriated by the /pol/ crowd in their weird meta-ironic way and that doesn't necessarily bother me but it does add another layer to it. Before it was really easy to laugh at it as an excess of far-right online discourse, now it's like you can laugh at it and some /pol/ autist will appear to tell you about how Obama is actually kenyan, retarded, and a witch doctor, and you'll think he's fucking with you but it turns out he's actually not. That's the weird part.

But I would take a concert hall full of people saying "Obongo" over having to read a single comment on /r/aww or whatever.
