smart women scare me
Bumping, because this is pretty interesting
bet you she still argues with her fee fees when she knows she's wrong
>>35555215
im right here femanon
>>35555170
Actually I'd expect a woman like her to be good at math. Attractive people have superior genes and naturally dominate everything.

>smart
>women
Pick one

I'm sure those Victoria Secret's models know how to fix a car better than old ugly mechanic!
This problem is retarded I just mug the mad scientist.
>>35556759
Do you have proof they don't?
Modeling sure does pay more than being a mechanic :^)
>>35555170
I am not a smart person at all.
>>35556864
You're likely smarter than you think due to your self awareness.
Here is my problem for you robots.
Is it better to
A. Live and die before the human mind "solved" to the point where a person's future actions can be accurately predicted in 99% or better percent of instances.
B. Live long enough that functional human immortality is achieved but also have to live in a world where your choices and actions are inconsequential because powerful A.I. will always take an action to put you back on the course it has selected for you, effectively removing your free will.
>>35555170
she's probably a prude
>>35556982
I'm just smart enough to be self aware but not anymore than that
>>35556759
Actually they are probably smarter. Ugly people are worthless. Notice the smartest race is the most beautiful and the ugliest is the least
>>35557020
A.
Fuck B. That would be absolute hell.

>effectively removing your free will
>implying you have free will in the first place
>>35557020
If human actions can be perfectly predicted, then there is no free will.

what's the fucking problem with this question
the lady tells you that if you take 1 you're likely to win a million, or you could risk getting 1 thousand as a door prize
but in mathematics terms 1000 is a pathetic amount and not worth taking as a door prize in case the million wasn't in the first as 1000 is such a small fraction of a million potential that you'd be unlikely to ever make a million off that thousand it's worth risking both sums.
the real rational part of the choice of how many boxes selected effecting the outcome is why she would tell you that how many boxes you select effects outcome if it's 50% either way.
taking the 1k box only makes sense if you did not want to end empty handed
>>35557560
This question what is the backstory to it?
Is it some kind of thing where they're trying to figure out something else? Like if a person could have a potential million dollar payment they'd settle for 1k? Clearly the safe bet is just taking the 1k especially if you already invested money to get to the tent it contributes to recouping your losses getting there and back. if you're just interested in a pile of money the all or nothing approach is already fixed unless there is a hidden variable like she's saying, trap door in the boxes/table unless everything is just a constant. Unless the lady is trying to deceive you there is no reason not to go for the single larger sum box.

shes so cute anon oaringalcis

>Asians are the most beautiful race
o i am laffin
remember /pol cucks, hitler wanted to destroy her
>>35555170
I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I'd pick both boxes. she could easily be lying about the million, and I'd much rather not walk out empty handed
>>35555170
I have my doubts about how smart Julia Galef is after seeing this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrK7X_XlGB8 (you taught a "whole class on bayes theorem"?? wtf? who would brag about this?)
I know a version of this type of person in the math phd program here at my school.
Shes smart as fuck (easily smarter than me) but utterly insufferable. Its like talking to a living NPR robot.
She is completely untouchable because she is a minority (a woman doing a math phd) and also really cute. What is so maddening about her is that she could be a force for good and contribute but instead she has to act like a complete automaton. Everything is about Women In Math and empowerment and women's rallies
Everything that comes out of her mouth is about pushing the agenda. She seems to only date >6ft businessmen with political power.
>>35555170
she probably makes these videos cause her chad boyfriend doesnt care about these subjects and she still wants to talk about them
