Seriously anon, don't think about anything but the conversation. It may be exhausting, but just focus on the social situation and the conversation rather than freak about messing up or being socially awkward. That's how i do it anyway, i get along pretty well

I'm shit when it comes to talking to people but it seems the best way is to go into it not expecting to talk about anything of value. This way there is no pressure of inputting anything as usually the other person will be running their mouth
