A lot of people have been there OP, although chances are if you message her it won't work out. I messaged a girl who was friends with this guy I liked about a year out of highschool, and he didn't remember who I was.
If you message her, the worst that will happen is she might blab to people that you hit on her, so be careful if you live in a small town.
Other than that, maybe add her on a "real" account, wait for a month or so, and then message her like, "Hey, we haven't talked since HS and I saw X on my timeline. What's up with that?"
If you're not messaging her, don't worry anon, you're probably just projecting your nostalgia and regrets on her. Which, while that doesn't mitigate the sadness, at least should give you some perspective on the duration of these feels.
