Cars are too expensive. There's no way you can pay rent and afford insurance, maintenance, etc., on a car, with a low-wage job. But how do you get to your job without a car? I've walked up to 6 miles back-and-forth, but my current job has me taking a trip on the highway to work, and walking is impossible.
I do everything by bike.
It's a pretty good deal, honestly.
>keep myself fit
>solitary hobby
>have something fun to work on with my hands and utilize the mechanical part of my brain
>normies usually just think I'm more weird or sometimes cool
>have an in with normie hipster communities through occasionally visiting bike shops and having knowledge and experience
Unfortunately I have no actual bike friends irl, I usually just avoid too much interaction with the guys in bike shops. I only know of one guy who goes on /n/, since we recognized each others' bikes.
Fuck cars, though. Not only are they shit in almost every respect, but they're a status symbol and base line quota for normiedom. Most normies think you're an autist or just weird when you tell them you don't have a car. They look down on, and pity you.
I live in a city with a rapid transit system. Theres a station two blocks from my house so I just walk to that

My dad bought me a used car and pays for insurance. Also bought me a condo and charges me slightly more than the association fee, at least until I'm gainfully employed or he dies. I hate it here because it's usually noisy (the low frequency kind my autism can't handle) and I can't walk somewhere else for quiet because it's in the suburbs. At least my bf gets me out of here sometimes.

Normies, I really hate them.
