Don't worry about it, I've lost 80lbs myself the past year. Just follow these 3 simple steps
1) eat moderate portions
2) drink lots of water and only water
3) exercise as much as you physically can

Don't stress it, don't fast. This is a lifestyle change, a small calorie deficit (500) is easy to maintain without counting your calories, and that'll have you lose 52 pounds in a year without exercising or doing anything. Don't fall for meme diets, be careful of what you eat and stay away from sugary things and you should be fine.

There are variations. I'd start with maybe 5:2 coupled with regular visits to the doctor to see how it works for you, etc.

The doctor thing isn't mandatory if you think that's too much trouble. You'll probably figure shit out fine on your own.

Intermittent fasting is good stuff, but it just seems natural. I guess that's why people are fat. Eating non stop can't be good. People only need 1 or 2 meals a day. Anything more is greedy.
