Well I'm about to be homeless. Have any of you robots experienced homelessness? Any advice?

prepare to get robbed
raped arrested beaten
lose fingers and toes if you don't live in a warm country or die freezing starvation is another likely end
>>
buy a tent, and sleep in the bush at night hang out in the city during the day.
If you live in a city with food banks, and shit you'll be golden.
Also invest in something to defend yourself.

I have. I had a car to sleep in tho.
>>
I got some advice: try to find durable kneepads so you can use them as much as possible. Otherwise the knees will seriously take a toll on you and might hinder your ability to walk properly. Definitely harder to get clients if you look like a cripple.

Also avoid homeless shelters, these things are a complete trap and filled with bullies and junkies.

Yas, the one in my town is infested with lice and bedbugs. A lot of the residents also have STDs.
>>
>find aids outreach organization
>pretend to be msm (faggot)
>get free transitional housing
>>
Try to save enough money for a gym membership. Showers for hygiene, lockers to store your shit in.

>then get raped by the aids faggots there

I am homeless right now, but will be out of this situation this year considering I have a good paying job. I live in a veteran transitional housing, so my experience will be kind of different. Us vets share our place with people with HIV, too. We also share the mess decks with the homeless families. Because of the funding grin the VA, I am living quite lavishly for a homeless person.

Before going to the shelter I stayed out in the streets for 5 days. I slept in a well lit place where a lot of cars drive by. There was also "drive by's" (people who give out brown bagged meals) every day so I was never starving. Churches also give out free meals during a certain time. During the day I would just chill at the library and use the wifi and go on the computers.

You're smart phone will be your best friend. Go to youtube convert and download movies and music at mp3 juice. Download gba emulators and games. This will help you pass time for when the library closes or when you have no access to wifi.

When you have no job and no money you'll find that free time can make you go insane. That's why some homeless do drugs so they can either numb the mundaneness or make life a little more exciting. On your free time (you'll have a lot) look for a job. Being a working homeless is better than being a stereotypical homeless bum.

Do you get your own rooms at vet housing?
>>

Don't set your bj price low. Once word spreads you can't get away with a price hike.
>>
hey dude. I think an important thing to remember whilst you're homeless is that this is an impermanent place in your life. Motivation needs to stay high. You need to work hard even if it's just slaving away. Store your money. Spend time working and not socialising with other homeless people.

When I was homeless i managed to keep a job at a pub and so worked out perfectly when I got to eat a meal there every time i workedplus my pay. Plus time spent working is not time spent spending.

Also when chatting with peeps don't tell them you're hoemless cos they think ur a druggy or sme shit. Do yo best to stay fresh. Do yo best to basically live a non homeless life if you do not want to feel like shit all the time.

Check online for indie charities that may cater to someone JUST LIKE YOU (they exist, you need to look) in the same way there may be hostels in your area that cater to the homeless etc.

How did you maintain a decent hygiene?
>>
>>35444509
THIS GUY IS RIGHT.

Get yourself some books and drawing pads. Time alone is really brain breakingly sore.

We have 2 people to a room. Before I went to the veteran/HIV building I was in a different building where the chronically homeless people go to. There was no bed bugs, but it stank, had a lot of mental people/addicts, and people stealing other peoples shit. Get a job, op. If you have one already just save, save, save. If you have a good head on your shoulders you'll do good. Just think about it as a temporary situation.

I found a hostel which catered to the homeless. I had to pay 80 quid for gas n electricity a week though. None the less that helll hole box of a room offered me a bath. Hated it there.. no windows or anything, not allowed guests, woken up every day at 8am to confirm u hadnt committed suicide (they did it for everyone) etc. But this is why it's important to really search online for what is out there like independent organisations in your country/state that can offer some kind of service for you.

Also why it's important to WORK. you need something to keep you planted in the 'REAL' world and not the HOMELESS world which you can easily feel apart of. Keep your sanity n sense of self.

this guy says avoid them. I say GO there if you've nothing else. You don't need to mix with these people just keep yourself to yourself mind your own business. Having acess to a bed and shower are things that you will just really need (provided its not room sharing. either way there should be somewhere safe u can keep ur stuff even if its with the staff there.)

Nobody gives a shit about advice from a teenager, fuck off.

Get a bike and a tent. Keep moving. Call it a vacation. You will go crazy if you just sit around doing nothing all day.
>>
>>35443752
Trains are warm. They can be an apartment on wheels if you're smart enough.
>>
Look on craigslist, I've seen a few ads of people taking care of homeless and trying to get them back on their feet. You're probably going to get raped though.
