So online dating has never, ever worked for me in any true capacity.

A lot of things to consider about online dating: a) profile angles could be making her look way better than she is b) YOU are underselling yourself online. She doesn't see your height, personality, nothing much at all. c) in real life you don't have to wait months just to be ignored totally, unmatched, or anything like that. It's a blunt yes or no in real life.

So as scary as it is, IRL is just better. If you're one of the few Chads that can make Tinder work, then great for you. Many men don't even get matches. I get matches, but they don't respond or take forever.

I'd say it's a combination of things. A subset of women have gotten this idea (from modern feminist rhetoric) that guys approaching them are harassing them. So plenty of guys don't want to take the risk of kicking a beehive. And with social media and online dating (note: OKC and the like, not having an e-girlfriend), you can approach someone safely, chat and all, then meet up in an actual date as opposed to taking the risk of in-person humiliation/confrontation.

I've been trying approaching girls lately, mostly just for practice I guess. Other than getting a few numbers and one unsuccessful date, no real results. It's really not that hard a thing to try if you're at least normal looking and not totally autistic. I have never in my 26 years of life seen a guy cold approach a female. Not at coffee shops, not when I was in college, not even when I went out to bars.
