Overnight security guard here. Most certainly a robot job. Only interact with two or three people over a 12 hour shift and pend most of the time playing oldschool runescape (since that's the only game the computer they use for camera software can handle). After spending a decade in retail and fast food, I feel really lucky to have this job even if its still minimum wage.

Security guards here only call the popo, ask unintimidating people to "please stop doing [thing]", and just observe intimidating people. If somebody were to shoplift, security guard just watches them go and then gives a statement.

The guys who empty/load the ATMs and safes though, they mean business.

Depends on your country, the place you're working and shift hours.
In the UK, security guards are absolutely fucking useless. They have no power or authority whatsoever. They have no right to stop you or detain you or tell you to do anything. They're just there to report u.
A night-shift job would be perfect. Easy. You just go on a slow walk around the place you work and spend the rest of the time sitting on your arse, doing whatever. There's no actual work involved.
People will hate you, though. Security guards are a nuisance and people generally despise how you get away with doing nothing all day.
