I wouldn't even consider Post ReturnDAD and everything before the same game desu. Its pretty obvious why people who enjoyed old yugioh don't care for new yugioh, but its just too bad most of the people enjoy old yugioh for "omgg dakr magician lmao" and not for the good formats like Goat control and chaos recruiter.

They're third edition cards, it got shitty after the first two I think.
I remember getting excited about trying to summon my relinquished/exodia and how fun the original was, but it just got all fudged when they kept coming out with some crazy powerful cards.

This game was fun as hell but got hard when facing the super strong Egyptian fags. Would always have to fuse cards but they would set down 3000 ark/def cards. Like the 3000 Wall Maze card. Always got the Twin-headed Thunder Dragon with 2800 atk hoping I also have a black hole. Fun times. Great music also

All card games like these suffer from power inflation, they need to keep making better, stronger cards to keep people buying them, otherwise a person can build a great deck and just keep using the same basic thing for years. The tournament scene also contibutes by banning the most powerful cards of each generation forcing competetive players to buy the next in order to maintain an edge before those too are banned.

Yu-gi-oh is a particularly bad example though and became bloated faster than most other popular card games.

Lots of fun but it was such bullshit after a certain point when the difficulty jumped a thousandfold and winning was impossible. I had to cheat my way into star chips to get the Perfectly Ultimate Greatmoths, Meteor Dragons and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragons that actually stood a chance.
