I'd actually, in my adult life, actively try to emulate my loner heroes that pop culture made such a big deal about being "cool" and "aloof but wonderful" or whatever. Took me many years to realize this was just as autisitic as cosplaying a popular anime character and thinking it'll make you just as popular IRL as he was in the anime.
