For anybody interested, there's a loophole to staying in japan indefinitely for a cheap price without becoming an illegal immigrant. Just stay and once you're 90 days is about to run out, book a flight to Seoul and stay there for like a day or two

I remember one day out of boredom I was looking up how to become a Japanese citizen. As far as I can tell the requirements are pretty much the same as in any other country: 5 years residence, either earning over a certain amount or have a certain amount saved, know the language, pass a test, etc. The only difference is they don't have dual nationality, you have to renounce your current citizenship, which is why I imagine it's so rare for people to become Japanese citizens, because nobody really wants to burn their bridges.

Does japan have jus solis naturalization? I dont think it does but i dont remember. The easiest way to emmigrate to countries with jus solis and get citizenship is by turning up and popping out a kid which lets you stay since "the right to a family life" is a human right so the parents can get citizenship through the kid. I seriously doubt many us, uk etc migranta actually take the test (hell, there is a shocking number of people in these countries who dont even speak english let alone be assimIlated)

I just looked it up and apparently Japan doesn't actually have a citizenship test. You just need to understand Japanese well enough to read the necessary forms and bullshit your way through interviews with case workers.
