4chan is at least honest. Reddit will slam you with pm's, bans, and disgusting amounts of passive aggression if your view on something happens to trigger someone. I've had people PM me over months old comments with an essay's worth of text about why my opinion is wrong.
Just be glad that all interactions on 4chan are temporary. Sure posts are archived but no one is going to reply to your posts after a thread dies, you can let whatever negativity you encounter die with the threads and try to remember the positive interactions after they die.
