Has anyone here ever worked as a freelance writer? What's it like? Do you guys have any tips for someone who wants to start freelance writing?
I think I have the potential to become a decent writer. When I was in school, I got poor grades on a lot of essays, but some of my essays were also really good. The only reason I got poor grades on a lot of essays is because I have trouble writing about things I'm not interested in. But I can write really well if it's about something I'm interested in.
You are under Dunning-Kruger spell.
The basic level of writing ability required for the job is attainable by more people than there is demand for. Your success as a freelance writer is solely determined by how well you market yourself. If you're a robot, that's probably not your forte.

You might be right, but I at least want to try out freelance writing for a little bit. I need to improve my writing skills anyway, so even if it doesn't work out, it won't be a total waste of time.
