I think what the porn industry passes as vanilla porn is far from it. It always carries the message that you, the viewer, are sexually inadequate. The obvious example is penis size, but it's even true in cases where that's not the focus of the work. My experience with pornograyhy has been overwhelmingly positive. It's kind of like drugs. It's a useful tool to have but weak people hurt themselves now and then. Adderall helped me get my shit together so I have a career. Porn helped me overcome a lot of sexual hangups I had from growing up hyper religious. I still have some discomfort with sex of course, but considering how deep I was in it I'm more than content with my recovery.

I still wish someone would provide any evidence of a slippery slope though. Any time it's been examined we see clearly that sexual tastes do not change. It doesn't matter how much porn one looks at, they will never want to see out more depraved shit. That doesn't even make sense.
