You might say we NEETs are a new pseudo-aristocracy. Yes, we NEETs are the new creative class. Look at history and some of the brightest minds lived a solitary and minimalist lifestyle so to put their minds into philosophy, art and scientific endeavours. Darwin, Thoreau, Kant, Da Vinci, Emily Dickinson and so the list goes on and on. This is what NEETs do. The NEET lifestyle is one of the fastest growing cultural movements of this century. It is iconoclastic, bohemian and incredible creative.

When in the past there were such philosophies as Taoism, Stoicism and Buddhism, the future has the NEET as the creative force who mix old and create new forms of living. The artists and polymaths will all come from this pool. It is not all pretty, as many NEETs will not make it, but some will and they are the new cultural artisans in a world that has lost its creativity due to mass-production. The shamans, the monks, the prophets and the sages of the future? All will be NEETs. The culture of conformity does not allow creativity, but the NEET is free of it.
