Yeah that's the thing, oblivion isn't suffering. It's nothing. If you're suffering badly in life, it's understandable why you'd want to feel nothing. We already do that, in a way, through alcohol or opiates you're just numbing parts of yourself so that you feel less, and for some people it's so bad that they need to permanently feel nothing.

It's legal and anywhere guns are legal it's easy access.
What's illegal is ~~threating~~ to commit suicide, they can put you under watch and remove your rights without a court case.
It's a subtle but important difference.
