where do you live? It's different everywhere but up here in Canadia (and im pretty sure in the US too) DXM only cough syrup is available OTC. Just make sure when you're looking that it doesn't contain acetometophen, guafenesin or pseudoephedrine - the first and last can be dangerous in doses required to get high (acetometophen is deadly) and guafenesin will just induce projectile vomiting and terrible stomach problems. Try and stay away from Benylin too, the couple of times I tried to trip off of benylin DM cough syrup, despite having no guafenesin and low levels of sorbitol (a sweetener that is known to have similar effects), 1000mg of DXM (about 333ml worth of syrup) also induced projectile vomiting.
Essentially, be on the lookout for DM only syrup, local drug stores are the most likely to have them. There should be no expectorant or decongestant, only an antitussive.
DXM can also be found in pills in some places, gelcaps that contain 15mg of DXM only, per pill. Shit's amazing, you can order it online, and just down a whole bottle and go for a ride. Same deal, just make sure DXM is the only active ingredient and you're fine.

I had a large sum of money that I slowly doled out over the winter months when I was in school and didn't have a job but his winter I finally ran out.
