Have fun when everyone asks you to do something in java. It's horrific at times, but it could be worse i guess.
Actually, for the best bang-for-the-buck, I'd be studying one of the javascript frameworks like Nodejs or Angular.
C++ is being used less and less in the mainstream projects.
C++ gives you a good understanding of programming. When you encounter other languaches later you will see that they are just c++ without some features.
