What was your last really good year for you r9k? For me it was

2014 had a lot of emotional highs and lows
it was pretty intense despite the fact that nothing was actually going on
I liked that

My peak was probably 2010. That was the last time I had a real friend group I actually liked.

Yep. That's the outside of my dorm's cafeteria. I'm kinda spergy and the camera was a new gimmick so I photographed all sorts of random shit.

Yeah, I have so many cozy memories of the early 00's. Late 00's and early 10's were complete hell though.

I can't stay up much later, but here's a cosplay picture I took at Anime Central 2004. It was more authentic then. People hitting the thrift stores and sewing in their dorms rooms. None of these professional cosplay models and 3D printed armor costing 1000's of dollars.

Things were on a downward spiral for much of the last decade and a half but somehow I'm turning it around.

Okay, here's an abandoned diner along a highway in Wisconsin. Very 70's kinda place with pink pleather chairs.

One freaky thing about it was that it had place settings perfectly set out like they expected to reopen the next day. Sometimes it was just left unlocked sometimes it wasn't.

Torn down now of course. All the good Wisco UE sites have been.

Bumped into them and talked every year from 02 to 08. Never really got any kind of contact info or hung out outside the con. It was just kinda like seeing a friendly coworker. I hope they're having nice lives.

A girl started to like me back then, too bad my autism/ self destructive behaviour kicked in and I fucked up

Probably freshman or sophomore year of high school. I only consider it good because that was when I had the most opportunity and chance to turn shit around. I could have joined a sport, study more, volunteer for things, make better friends, learn skills, and generally be well-rounded enough to go to college.
None of those things happened though and I don't think I'll ever have a "good year".

in middle school I had two friends

we played so many different mmorpgs together and had sleepovers at one friends house about once every few months. Those were comfy times even though I was still depressed.

I lost friendship with them in highschool after one found a girlfriend and the other just fell apart from me... Both of them left to go to the same college after high school. I wonder how they are doing now

It's been a long time since I had a consistently "good" year

2015 was mostly pleasant but the end (Sept-Dec) was so fucking miserable and turbulent that it effectively ruined the entire year

Maybe 2008 was the last truly content year I had, with no major struggles or depressions or whatever
