how easy is it to lie about having a degree? Like I imagine big megacorps will look into that shit but do smaller companies just take your word for it? I dropped out because school is boring but just want to do some shit in sales because I am cyborg
You need to show your actual diploma when getting a job, some will do a background check.

Here's my experience
- job with small company did a background check, did not have to show transcripts
- job with government, have to show transcripts
- job with large corp did not have to show transcripts, background check

I've thought about doing this just for the hell of it
go to some office and apply for a job then lie about my education and job experience
see how far I get

Is it even illegal?
>>35206258
It's not illegal, you'll just get fired for liying if you get hired

Don't listen to these guys.
Sales is different. If you sell and bring in money noone will care. If you piss someone off who is important they will use it to fire you though.

There's background checks for degrees? I always just had to show my transcripts
>>35206866
Transcripts are fine as well. In fact they care more about the transcripts.
>>35206889
I was just a little confused because by showing transcripts you prove you have them, if they have to do a background check the employer has to spend more time on people who he probably won't hire

I've never met a sales manager that gave a shit about a hire having a sales degree. Sales is either you have it, or you don't. Even product knowledge is of marginal consequence.

It was just a part of the background check
