Why is it that every girl, when wishing their friend happy birthday or something, feels the need to mention that "we've had our fights, but they brought us closer together and we're still friends"?

Literally every single time. Why would you want to advertise to people that you fight with your supposed best friend? Isn't that an insult to them?

Clearly you've never had a real friend before. When you spend a lot of time someone eventually something is going to trigger a bad argument/fight. The mark of true friendship is that after everything is over, you're still cool with each other like it never even happened.
