Do men need to be more aggressive these days?
Seems to me like too many men are major pussies.
But when is aggression justified?
I was at a bar tonight, and some greying douche fag with a beer belly was whistling really loud, and that annoyed me.
So I stood up and walked up to him, telling him to stop whistling, because it's annoying me. He refused to stop whistling, because he was watching a basketball game on the TV screen and supporting his team by whistling. I told him that the team doesn't hear his whistles, and nobody gives a shit anyway, then suggested him to clap instead of whistling.
Then my friends came over and pulled me away from him, fearing I was about to start a bar fight with that guy.
Was I in the wrong here?
I wasn't even being aggressive, I was being really diplomatic about it, even exchanged names with the guy and shook his hand. But my beta cuck friends rushed to "save me". Where they right? Would I have been in the wrong had I been more aggressive with the whistling guy, had he not complied with my request?
Seems to me like being aggressive equals being manly. You prove your point AND your brawl, your friends respect you, and women think you're a viable mating partner.
I'd really like to hear some opinions on this.

Often these situations are personally not good for you or your social standing but that's generally a pretty good indicator those people really don't care about, and are bad for you.
Your friends were sort of right. If you're in public it's really only expected people are going to do what they do it's kind of a dick move to tell them to quiet down. You sort of notice it's why less people tend to go out and prefer to stay in or just have a core group of friends.
Unless you're a bully. A lot of bullies just get away with being aggressive because people think the bully will get the group to turn on them. Again, not a group that's good for you to hang out with imo.

Agression is only justified if someone is directing it towards you in any manner and they don't back down. Don't go looking for trouble, don't start shit with other people. Play it out in your head if someone came up to you and did that. What do you think you would do? You cant really size anyone up that well either at least not in the quick moments leading up to a confrontation, just look for if they are trying to prove something. Usually a good indication they are full of shit and you have a chance.

Being aggressive is only okay in a situation where someone is being aggressive towards you. Otherwise you should just ignore whatever is going on and grow some thicker skin.
For the record, you're lucky you didn't get your shit kicked in because you were acting like a giant manchild.
