Played WoW casually on and off until Mists, then raided heroics pushing realm first on our middle-of-the-road pop server

Played frost mage until I had the gear for fire, then played fire forever. Every time I think about going back I'm reminded that 10M Heroic isn't a thing anymore, not really, and I'd have to raid with 20 people if I wanted to. Completely killed the comfy close-knit-family vibe that 10 mans had in WoD.

Mained a hunter. I'd go back and forth between all the specs but mainly stuck to BM when it was a viable option. Also had a resto shaman, and frost mage. I mostly did pve but I remember being severely out geared in pvp with my mage in mists and still wrecking shit because of their ridiculous damage output, multiple freezes and blazing speed+blink. If you were a melee class of any kind you likely didn't stand a chance unless you managed to stun lock me as a rogue. Currently playing on a vanilla server as a resto druid

Vanilla I had a Mage at cap, I got Ret Paladin to cap during BC. Tried to play WotLK but got bored somewhere in the middle of the new zone and never went back to WoW.

Ret Pally in BC was super shit, though. Always having to sit down and eat/drink, praying for a good crit so the regular mob would die quickly for a change. Though seal swapping was fun, I think thats what it's called anyways.

showing up less than half way through BC was the best vidya experience of my life, even though I was a 12 year old sperg and I never really made any lasting friends, the social experience and newness of a game like this was life changing

This gnome lock was my main in vanilla. Killed KT, full T3, etc. I made an Orc Warlock in TBC and sold that with T6, etc before Sunwell was released. Played multiple accounts in WotLK, such as a DK with full T7 before Ulduar was out and sold that. Leveled pic related until I killed LK on 10 man with guild and quit. Disc Priest, TBC. I've tried getting back int o the game, and I get max level every expansion except MOP, but I quit within a week of reaching it. TBC was the ultimate max level experience and nothing can compare. Back then disc priest was ridiculous in arenas. Played a lot of priest/rogue and priest/hunter.

I miss this game so fucking much, I started playing right at the end of BC and quit mid Cata

I remember when I first started rolling a ton of characters, my first ever was a Dwarf Paladin before I kept trying to get a good name and finally settled on an Undead Warlock, took me about 2 days play time just to get to level 18 I had so little of an idea what I was doing.

I loved the Pre-Cata WoW zones and the Burning Crusade areas, the Wrath zones were my favourite though, they just had an epicness about them that no other zone in the game had.

Went through a few guilds and eventfully found a group of guys I stayed with late Wrath to the end of Cata when I quit.

Never did any high end PvP or PvE really. Just levelling up alts and getting lost, ganked and discovering cool areas while questing, running dungeons with friends and doing early morning Warsong Gulch PvP at 6AM before school.

I'd do anything to go back and I never even experienced vanilla or BC properly.

My first character an Undead Warlock which looking back on it I must have started levelling shortly after Black Temple came out I only got to 70 at roughly when Wrath dropped (remember being confused because I thought 70 was max level but then it was 80)

I remember I quit shortly after 4.2 in Cata and I just made a Priest to level and I got to max level in 4.5 days play time, the in game quest helper kills any mystery or exploration players otherwise would have done and that's on top of the new Cata zones which just made them all feel much the same and made the process too fast (blowing through every quest heaps easy as there's no exploration, just go to x and kill y).

Heirlooms too and I believe they cut the amount of experience you need in vanilla/bc and wrath zones, may as well just give everyone instant max level characters now it's that easy I'd imagine

Haven't played WoW since. I immensely enjoyed it during the vanilla/BC days because I had a lot of friends who played. After that it was just an addiction and I wasted a few more years of my life playing it before I realized it was a complete misuse of my time

I played since early 2007, got absolutely addicted at that time when i was about 12 and basically spent two years playing non-stop just leveling and wasting time. I can say without a doubt it was the most fun i have ever had in my life, wasting time in vent with friends who were all doing the same shit. But then over the years they all just left or stopped playing as much slowly and then you are the last one left.

I still resub quite often to get a fix but don't end up doing much. Will get an xpac on sale and play but it will never be the same. Even playing on private servers i have done this. It's not the same, it is almost corrupt in a way. Like trying to resurrect a dead friend or family member selfishly because you miss them. Leveled every class to max level in all the expansions since Wrath to WoD.

I really didnt get too high gear lvled in cata because raiding was gay and people became retarded.

During wotlk i played a prot warrior and was part of an above average raiding guild before my computer shit the bed and i couldnt get a new one. If anyone played on alterac mountains aliance i probably knew you. I also had a dk at max level but he had shit gear.

My main was a Warrior then Hunter and finally a Monk. I quit for good in Legion when I realised that I grew out of the game. I started admitting that I actually don't want to spend hours every day doing repetitive world quests and farming dungeons for an RNG legendary drop or gear improvement.

I still love WoW for the novel dungeon and raid encounters to be had but the mindless farming and repeating instances and quests hundreds of times a week just isn't worth it.

If you are still trapped in WoW then you need to realise that MMO's are not fun. They are malevolently designed with one goal in mind - to keep you logging in every month. They are not the same as a game you can buy and have a pleasant, complete experience from start to finish. MMO's are made to never end and reel you in for as long as possible. Accept the fact that MMO's are evil and hopefully you'll snap out of it!

I was never a PvPer but thats certainly true for PvE. Cross-server LFD and (later) LFR put paid to any kind of server community. Shit, after LFR you didn't even really need a guild.

I can't make this up. I've met an incredibly hot, smart, tall blonde girl and lost my virginity thanks to Burning Crusade related portal. We are still together even though we don't play WoW anymore.

The best times in WoW I had were before we met. The times when I was leading my guild and I was one of the best pvp players on my realm. After I passed my guild to my friend and quit I was still active in the online community and that's where I met my gf. My main was balance druid and I quit after the golden age of WoW, Burning Crusade, was over.

WoW isnt a game for robots nowadays. You are dicked in so many different ways for not having friends and being social.

Before you could get by in WoW as a robot by playing a lot and being skillful. People would invite you to raid groups or guilds because you dedicated a lot of time and put in a lot of effort to gear up and learn things and that was very valuable to any raid team.

But now epics and legendary gear gets shoved down everyone's throats the moment they hit max level. Gear just rains from the sky and everything is handed out and requires no effort. So you playing all the time doesn't really do shit.

I really realized this when Legion launched. I busted my ass to gear myself up in heroic and regular Mythic dungeons. And I got noticed a lot and had a lot of guilds interested in me. Meanwhile everyone else seemed to just be doing nothing and still wearing quest gear. And then Mythic+ dungeons came out and suddenly I was miles and miles behind those people in a matter of days. Because they had friends and shit to spam Mythic+ dungeons with.

And I just never caught up from there. It's literally World of Facebook now. You are punished severely for not being social and having friends.

Played AION. Me and my GM were the 2 best sorcerers and dps on our server.
I fucking sucked at PVP because of shitty PC.
I used to daydream at school about how much better I'd perform in raids and dungs if I had a better PC.

Never was group 1 because GM always put me in with the other DPS to "instruct" them.
Felt good

Used to take me a good 12 hours to finish all my daily chores. I wouldn't wash for weeks because there was no time. I was hooked.
