The drinking started from the crippling depression then got worse when I realized I have nothing I want to do with my life and I'll just be unloading trucks until I eat a bullet. Thank you the great state of NY for denying me a gun so I have to save up to move somewhere with non-draconian gun laws. The saving of course isn't happening since I keep drinking away my money and then quitting jobs before I even make it a year.

I'm happily married and very successful. I don't go to my reunions because there's no point. I'm not friends with anyone in my graduating class, so why would I pay money to drive 7 hours and stay in a shitty hotel so that I can see people that I haven't spoken to in 13 years, most of whom went, got a college degree, and then went right back into the 3000 person town they came from?

It' got me a job in the midwest that pays 44.60/hr in a town where the average rent is 400/month and a 5 bedroom house in good condition with a back yard that has a privacy fence would cost about 70 grand.

I also have a wife that will have been such for 6 years this June, and was a virgin until we got engaged.

I also have a child on the way, due in August, as well as 3 dogs.

So only letting the people I love have control over my emotions has worked out pretty well for me.

First off, I'm not a technician. I'm an Operator. They are the ones who know the power plant forward and back.

Secondly, Power plant operator pay is varies wildly. Some places will only get you ~17 bucks per hour. Then there are jobs that will give you 60 bucks per hour. Depends on your skill set (master electrician here), as well as your operator level (Level 5 here).

I had similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Everyone was either an engineer, doctor, or some other fancy as shit job and me and some other guy were the only one who were complete losers among them and we both hung out in a corner talking about video games and football. At least the other guy had a girlfriend and wasn't a complete fuck up like me who couldn't even get laid

I immediately cut off contact with every single person from high school as soon as I graduated
I don't even have facebook so if they plan reunions or some shit I won't even know

high school reunions basically revolve entirely about showing off how successful you became and then circlejerk / banter with those with slightly lesser status, right?
