How does one define "post-irony?" I'm having trouble explaining this to my dad.

it's about being brutally honest about being a sarcastic, cynical fuck
like yeah, you know a meme isn't really that funny or funny at all once you analyze it but it's great anyway so you keep repeating it
or you know the future is completely fucked but rather than deny it or try to fix it you just revel in it
make sure you have vaporwave playing in the background while you explain it
basically kids today have no illusions about the broken shallow promises of consumer capitalism or the artificial superficiality of Western society anymore
at least that's how I understand it I could be wrong.
Just print up 30+ Pepe's and the full knowyourmeme page on Pepe. He's SURE to understand after that; make sure you laminate them first though, don't want them to get crumpled.
ding ding ding, basementdweller hole unearthed.
The definition would literally be "after irony". More broadly I assume you mean not just post-irony, but post-post-modernism. There are a lot of different ideas about what this might mean and because its not a concept with a lot of traction in current cultural criticism I don't think there is a commonly accepted idea of what it means. Most ideas involve a rejection of the detachment and cynicism of post-modernism and a new emphasis on sincerity and earnest emotion.
