Nobody taught me to shave my face, surely a leg is much easier, just shave with the grain and don't make any sudden jerking motions.

if youre genuinely interested in shaving, you shave from the bottom of your leg up (against the grain). however if you plan on shaving your pubic hair, shave with the grain (if you shave against the grain youll get ingrown hairs). i think its worth it, smooth legs feel really good. there arent any benefits to shaving
things to remember:
- the more blades a razor has, the better the razor is. its faster because you dont have to go over the same spot too many times.
- try not to go over a spot too many times or youll get razor burn (sore red bumps).
- find a razor with 'moisturizing/hydrating' strips. this lets you shave without creams.
- never ever ever shave anywhere on your body dry. i repeat, do not. you will get razor burn, and you will hurt until it heals. the reason why most people shave in the shower is because it prevents razor burn. jesus fucking christ razor burn hurts.

desu my girlfriend doesn't shave much anymore and I don't give a fuck. After a certain point it stops being stubbly and doesn't make a difference. Smooth legs DO feel nice, but it's not like the soft hairs that grow there feel noticeably bad or anything..
