I don't think enough people can actually contemplate what kind of life they're going to have, so they just finish school and go to college because that's what everyone tells them to do even though it's basically just an extra expensive 5 years of bullshit just to work the same jobs someone like me would work until they're in their 30s and get lucky with a chance to use their degree, which will still not be as luxurious and carefree of a life as they expected. If you already know you're a loser by the time you're 16 you might as well skip all the other bullshit and start making money then instead of in 5 years.

Yeah, my school made a point of not teaching anything work related. They thought it would detract from their "liberal arts" reputation. They didn't even have a computer science major. Now the only work I can find is horrible call center shit. College is a waste of time.
