If you have an open bite like me you probably have transverse maxillary deficiency as well (cross bite, narrow upper jaw). If you look at my xray you'll see that was never fixed on my first surgery and that's why I'm back in the same position again after (though slightly less bad).

If you have a narrow upper arch with crossbite, you will need SARPE or segmental lefort to fix it completely.

I'm going to be staring SARPE and then full redo of my jaws soon. Probably will lose all remaining sensation in my face and possibly end up with TMJ arthritis and gum recession but life is fun like that.
