He certainly did his research and hung around people with that disability to better copy the mannerisms but in all honesty; at his age he shouldn't have had as much trouble understanding sarcasm as he did. Other than that, pretty good.

I was diagnosed with sperg and I've never experienced autismal rage, then again I adapted pretty well and my only problem is that I have trouble organizing and expressing my thoughts via writing and I can't pick up on subtle social queues.

I think the autistic Rainman shit in The Accountant is extremely rare, and so I don't think it's a reasonable portrayal. He essentially has superpowers in this movie and then they try to get preachy about the tism at the end.

If they wanted to turn this into a PSA for autism, they did a pisspoor job of portraying a real autists struggles.

The only thing mildly realistic in that movie is the portrayed social ineptitude. Everything else is complete schlock. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the action and gunfights, but the main character is basically a millionaire mercenary who is rambo, james bond, and the terminator all rolled up into one. It's laughably unrealistic. This movie is just autist wish fulfillment. It's what autists secretly wish they were while telling themselves that's how the normies see them, some silent badass.
