Those duells are usually held by fraternities (well they're different from US frats but I'll call them that for the lack of a better word)

I live in Germany and pretty much everybody here thinks fraternities are weirdos and suck.
They stay mostly to themselves and drink a lot (get drunk together nearly every day).
Problem is: Being in a fraternity means a lifelong bond to your brethren, and there are a lot of influential politicans and managers in those fraternities.
