Why is Islam so weird. I can't think of any way that bowing down in unison 8 times and repeating some memorized phrases in a language that you barely understand talking about how great your leader is and how merciful and thankful you are to him can be a good or healthy thing. It's creepy and cultish. I feel like they're all incapable of seeing how ridiculous they look from an outside perspective and they just conform to whatever beliefs they were raised with without questioning a single thing. Wasn't Muhammed a millitaryI can't say any of these thoughts irl because criticizing a religion is taboo and people will assume I'm intolerant or closed minded, but that's so unfair because I have to deal with their intolerance and closed-mindedness just from being born in this family, and I can't criticize it because I'd inadvertently be supporting the beliefs of the right and that might lead to the overton window shifting towards ethnic nationalism/traditonalism which I don't like either. In fact, part of the reason that I don't like Islam is that it IS right wing and traditionalist. All these Muslims vote liberal but they aren't aware of just now not-liberal their thinking process is. REEEE

I know exactly how you feel and it feels like being inbetween two worlds. I will never be entirely part of Western society but my parents are immigrants and have never bothered to teach me anything so I don't feel any loyalty or familiarity towards Islam. I have felt like a complete outsider since the age of 10.
