ITT: Your top 3 favorite anime & why.
1) Hunter x Hunter
>amazing character development & arcs, great soundtrack, not your typical shonen, got me back into anime in 2013. Not just one of my favorite anime, but one of my favorite shows of all time. Probably my favorite art style in an anime.
2) Naruto + some of Naruto Shippuden
>first anime I ever watched back in the day. Loved it, especially the fights, so much nostalgia over it even today. Shippuden was alright until the Fourth Great Ninja War arc, then it lost its spark and got shit.
3) Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
>Didn't expect much going into it and was completely blown away. The characters, the plot, the setting, the twists, the music, the feels - I loved all of it. Every character is very likable. The story is very interesting and there aren't 100+ episodes like most shonen so you don't get worn out from watching it.

You either lived under a rock or you're pretty underage matey.
No particular order.
>JoJo
Combines stylistic shonen manga with fun writing, neat concepts and musical references pandering to my tastes. Grew up with shonen so JoJo is right up my alley.

Don't know why I like this, I just do. Cool action scenes, and intriguing stories about well-rounded characters. Also I like the music and art style a lot.
>Hajime no Ippo
I like boxing.
Top 3:
Fist of the North Star - Original GAR
Steins;Gate - Amazing plot and character interaction
Gurren Lagann - Row row
Honorable mentions:
Seto no Hanayome - Great slapstick timing and fresh humor
Hajime no Ippo - Thankfully the anime only covers the golden era of the entire 1000+chapter shitshow
Toradora! - Best love polygon
Cowboy Bebop - Style

1. Space Dandy because of its unique aesthetics, characters, storytelling, and overall atmosphere and tone.
2. Mob Psycho 100 because I love the main message and theme of it.
3.G Gundam for nostalgic reasons. Really hammy, loud, and fun.
>>34924901
1. Legend of the galactic heroes
For having the best story
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion + EoE
For having the most well written characters
3. Texhnolyze
For being the greatest artistic achievment in not just the entire medium but animation and film in general.

Is your sister dead or something
How the fuck do you get into anime in 2013? Underage? If you haven't been watching anime since '90s Toonami, you are a normalfaggot and need to stop watching anime: it's not for you.
1. Ping Pong The Animation
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion
3. FLCL
>>34927706
a tad elitist, but probably about right anyway
I like anime but not for its artistic value. I don't like art for arts sake.
>>34925667
As /a/ as it gets.
>>34927837
Anime isn't art.
>flcl
because it's wacky and cozy as hell withbits top tier OST and god tier art style.
>bebop
Cozy settings and OST and likable characters. Dub is fantastic and better than the sub
>wolfs rain

>>34927880
Everything is art, unironically.
>>34927767

>>34927164
No Yaro Abe, Kengo Hanazawa, or Inio Asano, I'm real disappointed my dude
>>34924901
1. Monster
Great story and setting and mysterious / creepy vibe...
2. Evangelion
Lots of nostalgia for this as it was my first anime even though its not perfect.
3. Speed Grapher
Great characters, unique story, cyberpunk, really brutal / sexually graphic and cool villains / hero.
Some other ones I love are Welcome to the NHK, Shigurui, Sekirei, Serial Experiments Lain, Parasyte Maxim, Shiki, Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy, Psycho Pass Season 1, Black Lagoon
Hunter X Hunter
-nen is greatly explained and the rules to the characters powers strictly adhere to said rules
-animation is top tier
-characters and story is unpredictable at parts, a positive for me
-no fanservice girl to ruin the immersion ex; nami, sakura, etc
-i want to sex pitou, palm, and the bunny girl
Monster
-only anime of its kind pacing-wise
-top tier drama
-feels like im watching an anime HBO made
-pretty good english dub
Evangelion
-giant robots
-remake movies have some of the best visuals ive seen in anime
-symbolism and different interpretations of the story keep my engaged
-everyone who said shinji was being a crybaby was probably never in a life-threatening situation they werent equipped to handle.i was one of the one who thought shinji was a bitch because i was a super-rad 14 year old who thought he was invincible. things change when see stuff that will haunt u for life, war sure does look fun and exciting in a movie or COWADOOTY but it changes a man.
>>34928110
Are you a vet anon?
It's great to see at least two other Anons here who seem to appreciate Speed Grapher. The anime, of course, but the manga is also great. Great artwork. Too bad it's out of print, I think.
Yu Yu Hakusho
Bebop
Eva
>>34927943
Haven't seen it yet, what makes it good?
Steins;Gate is objectively the best anime
>>34928332
For one the animation is amazing, the writing is pretty good too all the characters feel like real young high school stutdemts struggling with their identities and their place in the world and using table tennis as a vehicle for that. Also technically speaking it's really well done in terms of actual knowledge of competitive table tennis.
>>34928092
