>interview weekend at my top choice grad school
>One of the students is waiting at the airport to drop me off at the hotel
>"OK man, I'll be here later to pick you up."
>I try to wave goodbye, but he thinks it's a high five
>I try to high five him back but not fast enough
>Try to turn it into a handshake but end up doing a weird hand grab instead
>Laugh awkwardly and just leave
Fuck. I already blew it, didn't I. Why the fuck can't I even do basic stuff?

Good point.
Still, I feel like I should've become less awkward by 25+. Can anyone else relate?

It doesn't matter
trust me
I'm a doctor

by nature humans are very much alike, but in practice they differ
literally happens at least once to every human on the planet, including me. if someone remembers this moment then they have some serious problems

It's ok, anon. Being a bit awkward isn't going to get you rejected or half these people wouldn't be in their respective grad programs. I'm interviewing at schools too

Yeah he seemed pretty chill.
Still, I can't help but feel on guard. These interview weekends are a robot's nightmare
Thursday:
Dinner at student's house
Friday
Wake up 7 Am
Do interviews until 1 with five professors, and the whole admissions committee
>Dinner at professor's house
>After party at the bar
>After after party at the lounge
Saturday
Breakfast with students
And then I finally get to leave. Plus everyone has told me that the students will be reporting on me to the committee after. This is evil. Whoever came up with this is a monster.
