No nothing to do with that, unless you're worried about jail. It's rather that other countries are going to question your allegiance with much more scrutiny. I spent years thinking about hopping a plane to France to try joining the ffl which would of disqualified me from the U.S. military which was my first pick of a military to join. I personally think military or some other type of public service along those lines is a civic duty if you want to live somewhere.
