why havent you been meditating, bots? It can help with your anxiety and put you in a state where you can't feel any good or bad pain (which is better than just bad pain). In last week's meltdown meditation brought me out of my hulk stage and put me in a more reasonable mindset. The first 5 minutes of trying to sit still were hell, but before i knew it i was as quiet as a lotus flower in a tranquill pond, sometimes my pineal gland will randomly activate and i'll see hypnagogic imagery which is always interesting.

>"how do i meditate?"
just sit criss cross and keep your back (relatively) straight, what you do with your hands dosen't matter

>"its too hard"
doing nothing is too hard? c'mon

>"I-i have no time!"
you NEETs have plenty of time to waste.

Apparently it can induce apathy or even mental illness. At least that's what the poster everyone decries as the "Anti-Buddha" tells me.
>>
>>34878416
if you are a robot, its not getting better for you anyway. I've been experimenting with W.I.L.D and it's givin me some trippy inception episodes. horrifying yet full of awe and mystery.
>>
FUCK OFF with ur Asian bullshit the only thing you need is PRAYER

MEDITATION IS HERESY

Let me say that again if you mediate and COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEVIL then you are going to BURN IN HELL
>>
>>34878416

Source that meditation causes mental illness?

I've never once seen the meditation autist provide any sort of source for his claims.

I prefer to challenge my mind through psychedelic drugs about every 7-10 days.

You can meditate all you want, but I'd rather go down the rabbit hole and face my problems myself.

>sometimes my pineal gland will randomly activate and i'll see hypnagogic imagery which is always interesting.

Please elaborate on this.

I do meditate daily OP, I sometimes see a weird flash in the corner of my eye, but I assume it's due to the shitty EU light bulbs we have meaning I have shit lighting in my room.

Sometimes happens when I'm out too.
>>
>>34878563

Maybe the anti-meditation autist finally lost his shit. His sanity was always questionable at best.
>>
>>34878416
I argued with him once.

He uses bullshit sources and bullshit logic in order to argue against really a positive thing.

Once tried to tell me that meditation "shreds logic" and that it makes you "empathetic," as if that was a bad thing.
>>
>>34878510
i do not dirty my body with degenerate drugs, they won't be their for you when you run out of them. If you really want to face your problems you will talk directly with your subconcious through the most powerfull meditation their is, lucid dreaming.

how could you purposly indulge in hedonistic drugs and claim it is enlightenment? pathetic normieism.
>>
>>34878375
My reaction to meditation is intense anxiety and increased heart rate, so no.
>>
>>34878664
I'm not using man-made drugs, friend :^)

There's always going to be psychedelic drugs throughout life. If you never knew, DMT is in all living things... why avoid it?

You can keep ignoring the fact all you want, but you must realize that it's been there since the birth of man. By all means, I don't abuse my drugs, but I respect them tremendously.

I've reached enlightenment, now all I need are answers.
>>
>>34878607
>sometimes see a weird flash in the corner of my eye

eh, it varys on the indevidual, it's pretty rare it actually happens to me. sometimes it'll be like someone turned a flashlight on right infront of my eyes which always kind of makes me jump, and on an even more rare occasion i'll see complex patterns like when you press hard against your eyes for a long time.

another weird thing is that i'll meditate with the lights on and i'll see the glow but after a while it will be as if no lights are on, maby my eyes roll into th back of my head?
>>
Neets have no time to waste, it's wagies that have so much time they look for reasons to avoid applying themselves.

Meditation is alright though, I get giddy and tingly sometimes. It reminds me of how sometimes listening to classical music can make me tingle all the way down, back arch, and feel a lump in my throat sometimes progressing to crying. It's kind of scary sometimes because I don't want to lose control or my me but it feels god to let go. I always come back so the fear may be unfounded.
>>
>>34878462
can you cite where it says meditation is bad? I know the bible dosent list all the sins but meditation is a pretty ancient practice, if i was unknowingly contacting the devil by meditating shouldn't the bible let me know?

I'm an ACTUAL Christian. I don't know what cult or sect you're from, but good old fashioned protestants consider prayer to be meditation, and sometimes even refer to it as such. It's dedicating time to recite a prayer and focus solely on God or one of his mysteries. I don't want to say it's essential to practicing the faith as accepting Grace is the only ticket to heaven, but we're still called upon to be righteous and strive to fulfill his word. This is done through meditation.
>>
>>34878664

Much of what you gain from drugs remain with you. They are always there for me. Short of the universe ceasing to exist through some false vacuum type cosmology bullshit how exactly are they going to run out?

Besides that, lucid dreaming is shit. It's not powerful at all, it's just Using Your Imagination 2.0 but with all kinds shitty side effects like sleep paralysis and weird things carrying over into real life. For a while I was really struggling with how dreams and reality blended so well. I still have memories that are highly anxiety inducing from when I'm trying to read or write something and the contents of the page keep shifting around. I'd be on the same fucking page for what felt like an eternity but still felt this insatiable drive to keep reading. Fuck that shit right in it's hairy little asshole.

>>34878759

There is no difference between manmade and natural drugs whatsoever. I dig using psychedelics and all but I don't believe that molecules or atoms have a 'memory' or soul.

I prefer dissociatives though. Mushrooms feel exhausting in a good way but for some reason DXM or MXE just feels cleaner in a backwards kind of way. Catharsis from the mushrooms is nice but when I'm not in the mood to cry for a few hours I like to feel like a dying child or [nothing but abstract shapes] that only dissociatives can offer.

i'm not an eastern philosophy buff and i don't like how its so hyped up by normies i just like to meditate.

in fact, i know little to nothing about western or eastern philosophy, but from a practical standpoint i think medieval philosophers would be better for us robots, why? because who do you think would offer the best wizdom, a tea-drinking calm NEET? or a man who lives around miserable, bitter and sickly peasents? I'd say the second, peasents lives were closer to our situation than the happy nobleman's. Their lives were mediocre and full of back breaking work and sheer pain.

just a thought.
>>
>>34879150

But I ama already a calm tea-drinking neet. I have no interest in the mundane banalities of wagie peasants.

i haven't reached peak lucidity yet, but how could lucid dreaming not be better than some drug trip? You can make it seem so real that you know its a dream because its too real. Did you give up? i too struggle with it.

every time i try W.I.L.D i either expect sleep paralysis or a lucid dream but what i get is a weird augmentented paralysis dream thats too odd to expain.
thought i'd share it with you.

>door is violently opening and closeing itself at sonic speeds
>not even scared, decide to go close it since its annoying
>blink and i'm already halfway there, don't question it
>at the fucking possesed door
>reach out to close it but lose controll of my muscles and fall next to the bed
>muster up the strength to lift my arm and close it
>blink
>back in bed under covers
>fall asleep and enter a what i can only call a half assed lucid dream where i fadded in and out of sleep
>wake up
<wot

i'm still gonna try my hardest to master this skill. No matter how terrifying it is. Its my only chance of curing myself.
>>
>>34879452
How the fuck. I used to try to lucid dream so hard, and I was a regular on every forum known to man. But I never made any progress. Give me tips please
And by that I mean tell me everything you do down to the most meaningless details
>>
>>34879452

What are you trying to cure yourself of?
But yeah, I gave up on it a couple years ago. That kind of weird shit like you described is just too unnerving for me. I've taken drugs to the point I couldn't even crawl out of bed so it's not that I'm a pussy. Maybe it is. It's nice when you can tell yourself it's just drugs, but telling yourself it's just a dream isn't as reassuring. Then when I lose lucidity it usually turns into a chase dream. Even though I have superspeed in my dreams it's still fucking terrifying because the monster also has super speed. The random time and space lapses are the worst part though. Way too similar to a deliriant trip.

i'm not a successful lucid dreamer ither anon, i've been trying for five and a half months and what i posted was the epitome of my process.

but to be honest i know why i really can't lucid dream and it probably applies to you too.

as cheesy as it sounds, it's because i'm not believeing enough. Lucid dreaming plays off emotional logic and how you think, not hard work and dedication wheni was 14 i tried to lucid dream and got results in 3 weeks but had to stop because my family kept interupting my sleep schedual. But my life is now mediocre and dreadful, as bitter as can be, i've lost my sense of wonder towards lucid dreaming that once propelled my progress it's no longer the funland i anticipate every night even though i long for it.

until i can spark a new childish interest in lucid dreaming i don't expect to have any good ones soon and because i think that i won't have any, i probably won't have any.
>>
>>34879557
not him, but ill tell you what i did. i simply started a dream journal and focused a lot on remembering my dreams. id document my dreams right after waking up, and just keep recalling them from time to time, recounting them in my head. this, over time, tells your brain that dreams are important and to remember them. after some time of doing this, you will likely start lucid dreaming.

i suggest you couple this with other techniques. if you are too impatient for this, you may want to WILD the bitch. iirc all you have to do is lay down comfortably at night, as if you were about to sleep, and not move a single muscle; just breathe in and out completely relaxed. after a few minutes your body will get paralyzed and you may hear auditory hallucinations. if you reach this point youre in the home stretch and just need to wait a couple more minutes, just dont open your eyes during this timeframe, heed that warning. you will start having visuals and before you know it, youll be dreaming while still lucid.

For the past week I have been telling myself I will meditate

I recently realized that if I have time to browse porn and fap, then I have time to meditate, and tried to do that instead but it didnt work, the mindset once lust sets in and you search for porn is too deeply rooted. So I made a decision that everytime I fap, afterwards like an hour or so later I will meditate, so that I can keep up a meditation schedule as effortlessly and dilligently as I seem to keep a daily fap schedule, but I've also failed here.

In fact part of the reason why I haven't been is also those 5 minutes you mention OP, those 5 unbearable minutes where you are just starting to switch to the mindset of "I'm going to meditate now" but your internet and stimulation demanding ADD addled brain is fighting that decision almost a minute into it - no finer reason as to why I need to be meditating and no harder obstacle to overcome when I decide to finally meditate.

Fuck I was supposed to do it now I told myself but got distracted by 4chan and here I am.

I really hate how terrible I am at keeping to a meditation practice, the most I'll manage consecutively is 5 or 10 minutes a day for 3 days or so before I lose it again for a month or more..
>>
Its funny that lucid dreaming is being discussed in a meditation thread, because apparently theres a really good chance of getting lucid dreams if you are meditating at night before bed, and hell if you fall asleep while meditating in bed you might just wake up fully lucid in a dream thats what I read but not sure how true it is, worth experimenting with

2 birds 1 stone if so

i have no magical answers, anon it seems like a disiplen problem.

but yeah, i too can't meditate if i haven fapped which is why i do it before i meditate to help relive all tension.

and sometimes i just can't meditate at all. even past the 5 minute mark. The best meditation sessions happen when i just feel calm as rare as that is.

I meditate lying down most of the time so try that but it gets harder to not fall asleep so recommend to do at night
