I took a creative writing class once. We learned how to put together your work and get published. You basically just print it off, include your information and mail it off to a shit ton of publishers and publications.

Plenty of people in the class got published in magazines and one girl got her novella that she wrote in chapters during the class published.

The biggest thing I learned is that getting published is mostly just following all the steps.

Write something, edit, proof read, edit, proofread, put your package together, find appropriate publishers and publications, mail off your packages, and repeat.

Other than video games, I like making art. I really recommend it for robots. It's really relaxing to sit down and make art and it helps with being depressed. I think that it helps no matter how good you are at it. creating something just feels nice.

Yeah, it depends on your preferred playstyle. Like, I personally think Secret Hitler fixes all the problems with the Resistance, as do almost all of my friends, but some prefer it still.

One of the main differences between the two is that Secret Hitler is less of a solved system, by introducing multiple ways a team of only good players might still fail a mission - they might draw a hand of all red policies, or they might purposely be passing red policies to activate the assassination power and kill Hitler.

In general, blue has way more choices in SH, because not only do they have to decide whether to activate assassination, but they also have to decide whether to pass two blues to the Chancellor, making it impossible to fail the mission, or give them one of each in hopes of smoking them out as evil if they do choose red.

Also, as I briefly touched on, the fact that any and all players have the opportunity to use activatable powers is great, because it means that you're never like "ugh, I'm generic blue, I have no power" - everyone can get any power available as long as they get themselves elected President. It helps everyone feel like they're valid.

The teams are smaller and the amounts of missions you can reject is less, so the boring parts are over much faster.

The game is also beautiful. The component quality is insane, the art is minimalist yet literally shines, it's just clearly designed by people who know their shit when it comes to aesthetics.

My group only plays SH now and has totally dropped Resistance, so yeah, I would highly recommend it, if a slightly more chaotic, clever, and aggressive game is your thing.

Video games are fine in moderation and if you are genuinely enjoying yourself. It only becomes bad if you only play because you're too lazy to do anything else and you just want to pass the time.

As for a non vidya hobby(I don't even play vidya), I like listening to classical music. The only problem is that i feel overwhelmed with the amount of music I still haven't listened to and I have little time or energy left for other genres of music. But it's also exciting that there's so much worthwhile stuff out there to discover. Here are a couple of my favourites:

Deception: Murder in Hong Kong is a social deduction game that's mostly deduction, and doesn't necessarily require you to have a poker face. The conceit is that every player has lots of evidence cards in front of them, the one who's the murderer secretly tells the Forensic Scientist which two items they killed someone with, and the FS has to silently use forensic data cards to describe the murder and hope the real cops pull it off, while the murderer acts like he's one of them and tries to steer everyone away.

Mafia de Cuba is very much like Resistance, with two weird twists - first, everyone gets to choose their role, from a box, on purpose. Second, it's not the job of the whole table voting to figure out who's evil - only one person has any say. He has to figure out who all the evil team are through trying to get people's cover stories to fail, and only his word decides who gets fingered as evil. If he's right, him and everyone who chose to side with him win.

Burke's Gambit plays out a standard sci-fi plot, in which there is a perfectly nice blue-team crew on the ship, a couple secret members of a sleeper cell within their ranks who have been ordered to activate and respond with extreme force if they ever have the chance to capture an alien organism... and one alien organism inside one of the players. Blue Team just wants to survive, by killing the sleeper agents *and* knowing who to flush out the airlock to get rid of the infection. Red needs to keep the infected crew member alive, regardless of who they are, all the way to the end of the game. The infected player could be anyone, even one of the blue team fighting back against the Red players trying to keep them alive. What's also interesting is that you will never know your own infection status. Infection can only be detected by players to your left and right. They could say it's you and you wouldn't know if they're lying.
