They know you're sad and lonely and pathetic and they try to delicately make things better for you with gestures like this. And you know they do it because they care and they love you. But for some reason it's more depressing than ever.

My birthday, Christmas, these are the worst days of the year for me even though my parents try to make them the best days. I'm 21 and it's not getting any better.
