Yeah it really is that simple. Although there are a few other factors. Firstly you need to have your appearance sorted out - not fat, decent clothes, haircut, clean and well groomed etc.

Then you need to not have any creepy behaviors like getting emotionally invested in people way too early.

Then you need to get to know people equally, whether they are men or women. Because having friendships gives you social proof that you are worth knowing and the more friends you have, the easier it will be to meet someone.

Lastly you need to be able to ask people out regularly and take rejection well.

It's that simple, really.

But this is what i'm getting at too, it'll make you more likely to have friends. You might not find someone as a partner, but you're still finding people to help distract you from the crushing loneliness. That shouldn't be viewed as a requirement, it should just be a positive.

This is the hardest part of everything honestly and completely valid. I personally have no idea how to tell someone i may know that I would like to get more intimate with them.

My friend who proposed what I said in OP's response is that if you do care about people, this comes naturally. It won't get you easily laid, but that's not the goal, the goal is finding someone that works with you.... and then getting laid.... and hoping they don't cheat.
