It is obvious that technology has progressed in the last centuries, it is not so obvious such progrees will not fade in a future. In the past they used to assume that by the year 2000 it was necessary that the human race would have started space colonization, yet space colonization has basically been stagnant, even declining, since man first stood in the moon.

In the same way, just because computer science has advanced in the last years that doesnt mean that there is not an upper limit for the possibilities of the technology, in the same way that rocket science went from 0 to the moon in half a century but never continued its progress as we would have wanted.

There is no reason to take as a fact that AI will be achieved in our lifetimes, belief in it must steem from other sources such as fascination, wishful thinking and phantasy, but never from scientific certainty
