Is being alpha really worth it?
Society loves you.
Your parents love you.
Women love you.
Being alpha is only being clouded in love and acceptance 24/7. What's the big deal?

I've had this thought numerous times.
The halo effect doesn't generate actual love, just an aura of acceptance. Even so, all human love is a selfish projection of the what one person desires of another, and usually lasts a few months tops
Your own contentment cones from within. Seeking your happiness in others is the path to sadness.
Tough out the growing pains of living in solidarity and eventually you'll be comfortably numb.

Society only really works if you buy into the perceived gains. If you get no pleasure from the material world, there's really no motivation to participate in it.

Not only material gains, but also psychological gains. Like I said: Alphas are clouded in love and acceptance.
I always wonder if the most successful ones in society aren't really the most vulnerable people, because they need society to love them. They couldn't even survive 1 day the living hell of isolation robots have to endure.

Truly the beautiful ones.
