Has anyone here been in a program like Americorps or their state's Conservation Corps?

I enjoy hiking and like the idea of working outdoors, and think I might make some friends. I've worked normal wagecuck jobs and they make me want to kill myself.
Some worries I've been having are that a program like that will be such a big commitment that I won't be able to read or work on productive hobbies at the same time; or that I'll make the commitment and end up just as lonely and depressed there as I am normally.
bump, I am interested as well

And thinking about it a little bit, I don't know whether I'm considering it because I think I'd actually enjoy or just it to prove to my family/peers that I'm not completely worthless
God fucking damn it I'm such a retard. Why didn't I go to college right after high school now I'm two years behind everyone else my age
Maybe I should just join the army and go get blown up in some desert

Don't worry about being behind. A growing number of people don't graduate on time anyway. If you want to go to college, just go.
