I have that same computer fyi OP but it only cost $400. No SSD and no optical drive but it's the same exact computer. It's built like garbage and the screen sucks dick. Haven't tried to use it for video games but the guy bringing up Linux is 100% right. Get Ubuntu and install it on a portion of the 1TB HDD. Win 10 makes that computer run like fucking frozen puke. It's a shitty ""operating system"" which you're not made aware of how shitty it is until you use it on a cheap laptop.

I'm using 10 it's utter shite except for a small increase in boot times and overall speed. UI design is all over the place, it phones home when you do anything and all the shit you have to disable is ridiculous. It will connect you to open wi-fi hotspots by default for Christ sake.

FYi: THE 940mx chip is garbage for games, it's barely any better than integrated graphics. If you want to do any type of gaming, then you need at least a 950M. Or whatever the AMD equivalent is, I don't follow them. If you can't score a laptop under 800 with a 950m in your frozen igloo land, then I don't know what to tell you. Wait for a sale or look to eBay.
